What is a zodiac sign?
A zodiac sign is the 30-degree sector through which the Sun was travelling at the moment of your birth. That position defines your solar sign, but it is only one piece of your natal chart: the position of the Moon, the Ascendant and the planets in the various signs draw the complete portrait.
Each sign combines an element (Fire, Earth, Air, Water) and a modality (Cardinal, Fixed, Mutable). The element says what matter the sign is made of; the modality, how it works it. Cardinals initiate, Fixed signs sustain, Mutables adapt.
